These blocks are my latest “venture.” I made them using wood and my favorite Stampin’ Up designer papers. I painted my blocks before mod podging the paper to them. I sanded them and inked the edges so they would have a kinda rustic look before giving them another coat of Mod Podge. My letters were cut using my Cricut machine out of vinyl. What ya’ think? I just love them!

I’m busy cleaning out my craft room closet and came across these really delightful and perfectly “Valentines-ish” fabrics that I just had to do something with. So, first project is this wreath made out of 
scraps. I cut a pool noodle to 42” long first. (You can get one at the Dollar Store for uh, one dollar!) To form a circle form, I cut both ends of the noodle at a diagonal angle so that they fit together. Then I connected them using plain old duct tape.
The strips of fabric were cut at 1” x 16”. Then I just tied them on around the form. Easy! Here’s the wreath on the front door.
There’s something about cleaning out stuff that seems to create even more “stuff” so I ended up with this pile of scraps. I decided to use the leftover strips to make fabric rag balls for my coffee table to add a little Valentines Day inspired decoration. I didn’t have any styrofoam balls so I just made balls out of grocery store shopping bags and more duct tape. Whatcha think? The black balls disappeared in the picture but they look really cute in my den!

I thought you all might like to see some of my latest projects that have littered my craft room (garage, closets and den also!)
Pictured here is a doll bed I' built for my daughter’s American Girl dolls. I used a pattern I found on Ana White’s website. It’s hard to see in the picture but those are slats at the headboard and duplicate slats on the footboard. I did change the plans slightly so that the bed would be long enough to allow the dolls a little headroom when they are lying down. Here’s a picture of what Ana’s bed looks like so you can get an idea of what I mean by “slats.”
I matched the paint to Stampin’ Up’s Tempting Turquoise cardstock. I painted the whole thing, sanded it to distress, and then glazed it with a brown tinted glaze. The bedding was made using all Stampin’ Up fabrics. I made my own mattress and pillows too.
My daughter loved it and now she’s thinking she wants her own bed to match! Hope you like it too!

I guessed I better update this blog with what’s going on since I’ve gotten so many sweet emails and comments wondering, “WHERE ARE YOU?” First of all, Thank you! It’s nice to be missed.
As you know, I began participating in festivals and fairs pretty much every weekend. I got so busy that I didn’t have time for the workshops, classes, tutorials or this blog. I kept up my minimum sales with Stampin Up but you should SEE the number of stamp sets I now have on hand that have never even been opened. Let me tell you, it’s hard to see it! I DO love paper crafting and have no intentions of giving it up entirely! I did however give up my status with Stampin Up so am no longer a demonstrator. If you need one, shoot me an email and I will send you to some of the girls who were in my downline!
So, to sum it up, I’m still doing fairs and festivals and have now launched my online store at PersonalizedSouth.com. Check it out and let me know what you think!
